Sustainability at Savox Communications
Our commitment to sustainability
Sustainability is a part of Savox Communications DNA. We constantly look for ways to minimize our negative impacts, while we simultaneously strive to optimize our positive ones.
This enduring commitment extends to every facet of our operations—from our environmental stewardship and the well-being of our employees to our relationships with suppliers and customers, and our role as a respected corporate at the market. At Savox, we are dedicated to fostering sustainable practices that support not only our business but also the broader ecosystem in which we operate.
Environment
Climate
We produce our products exclusively by order, ensuring that we minimize waste and avoid overproduction. Our manufacturing processes do not involve hazardous materials, and we are not subject to any environmental licensing requirements. This underscores our minimal environmental footprint, as we do not generate significant emissions or waste.
We prioritize sustainability in our daily operations and every aspect of our product and production planning, consistently aiming to reduce both emissions and waste. We advise and support our personnel to make environmentally friendly choices daily, such as sorting office waste and providing the option to choose a company bike instead of a low-emission company car. Additionally, we are committed to lowering our energy consumption, both within our facilities and through our travel practices.
Circularity and resource use
Our products, primarily composed of plastic, metals, and electronics, are packaged using necessary packing materials. While we acknowledge that these activities, along with shipping products to customers and sourcing materials for our factories, contribute to CO2 emissions and generate limited volumes of electronic, plastic, and metal waste, we are diligent in mitigating their impact. We recycle waste to the greatest extent possible, always adhering to legal requirements.
We are members of the Finnish packaging recycling organization, RINKI Oy. Companies with producer responsibility are required to organize the collection and recycling of all their packaging waste, and they are also responsible for covering the associated costs.
Other environmental impacts
Most of Savox factories are certified under ISO 14001, an internationally recognized environmental management system that provides guidance on managing the company’s environmental impacts.
Social
Human rights
We are committed to upholding the highest standards of human rights across all aspects of our operations. We strive to ensure that all materials used in our products are sourced from socially responsible and reliable sources. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards any violations of human rights through our operations or any part of the global supply chain.
Health and safety
We seek to create a culture of safety where everyone can perform at their best and go home without harm every day. This commitment goes beyond physical safety; it encompasses an inclusive work environment and a supportive, mentally safe workplace.
We support our team with comprehensive health insurance and offer allowances for physical exercise and cultural activities during their free time, in countries where local taxation permits. Additionally, we regularly organize events, from seasonal parties to weekly breakfasts, to foster a sense of community and well-being.
Our proactive approach to health and safety has decreased work-related incidents compared to national averages.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion
At Savox you are among friends, regardless of country of birth, spiritual beliefs, gender, or sexual orientation. We believe that accepting everyone's differences and promoting growth through active listening and encouragement is the basis of our work.
However, concrete actions are necessary to be a truly open and inclusive company. Just as people are unique, so are countries and regions with their own distinct histories and cultures. That is why we are actively seeking diverse measures that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all areas of our organization.
Our aim is for everyone to feel valued and heard. We strive to build a workplace that is not only accepting but also empowering for everyone.
Governance
Ethical business
Complying with ethical standards and laws is the starting point for all our actions and decisions at Savox. Our Code of Conduct forms the foundation of our business operations, and we are committed to conducting our business with integrity, transparency, and respect for ethical principles.
Savox performs a wide range of functions in line with its strategy, with most suppliers being providers of electronic components. Many of these suppliers are international distributors with their own strict governance principles.
We encourage all employees, partners, and stakeholders to openly discuss any compliance concerns and to seek guidance whenever uncertainties arise. By fostering a culture of open communication and accountability, we ensure that ethical considerations are integral to every decision and action within our organization.
Whistleblowing
Savox’s whistleblowing channel provides a confidential way for both internal and external parties to report any suspected misconduct concerning our operations.
